Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam and Hotels for Trees join forces on Earth Day

During the first day of the Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam, on 22 April, which this year coincides with Earth Day, Hotels for Trees and the exhibition organisers will join forces to raise awareness of sustainability within the hotel sector. With a symbolic gesture, the organisation will immediately set a good example: 20 trees will be planted, with an appeal to visitors and partners to do the same.
The collaboration underlines the growing importance of sustainable initiatives within the hospitality industry. By participating in Hotels for Trees, hotels can involve their guests in environmentally conscious action in a low-threshold way: guests choose to skip a hotel night without cleaning, after which Hotels for Trees plants a tree in return. Meanwhile, the initiative has already led to the planting of hundreds of thousands of trees worldwide.

Regenerative Hospitality
The Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam is the leading trade fair for independent hoteliers in Europe. Every year, the event brings together hotel professionals, suppliers and experts to share the latest trends, innovations and developments in the sector. Regenerative Hospitality plays an increasing role in this: an approach where hotels not only reduce their impact, but actively contribute to the restoration and improvement of nature and local communities.

Small action with meaningful impact
By launching this collaboration precisely on Earth Day, both parties want to send a strong message. "We hope this initiative will not only inspire, but also directly spur action," said Chaya Huisman of the Independent Hotel Show. Visitors and partners are actively invited to join and contribute to a greener future. Linde Borgers of Hotels for Trees: "We are delighted that Hotels for Trees will be planting a number of trees on behalf of the Independent Hotel Show. We look forward to welcoming all participants to our stand at the Independent Hotel Show. Here they can join our mission to make our beautiful planet more resilient by planting one new tree every time a guest chooses to skip room cleaning. This is a small action with a meaningful impact, and one that is essential for the future of our industry."
With this joint effort, Hotels for Trees and the Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam are taking a concrete step towards a more sustainable hotel sector. Hotels for Trees can be visited at the Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam on 22 and 23 April. The stand number H60.
